I-Café Pilipinas with the full support of the Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT) headed by Chairman Ray Anthony Roxas-Chua III is currently organizing the First National Internet Café Summit with the Theme: "Towards A Better Internet Café Industry In The Next Decade” which will be held at the CICT Audio-Visual Room, Ground Floor, CICT Building in CP Garcia Ave, Diliman, Quezon City on October 21, 2009 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The summit hopes to bring together leaders of the different Internet café associations in the different parts of the country, Internet café operators who have expressed their willingness to join in the cause of improving the conditions of the Internet café industry, representatives from national government agencies and representatives from allied ICT industries into a forum in which vital issues affecting the Internet industry will be discussed to help in building a national program that would aid in its acceptance as a vital part of the ICT industry in the Philippines. More specifically, this national Internet café leadership summit hopes to attain the following:
- To bring together the different officers of the Internet café associations around the country and Internet café owners who have expressed interest in organizing their Internet café associations in their respective places and discuss their various initiatives that would aid in the formulation a national program that would aim in improving the conditions of the Internet café industry in the Philippines.
- To discuss the various national government initiatives and projects so that the participants would be aware that such initiatives exist and to plan for its actual deployment in their respective places to bring about improvements in the services offered by Internet cafes.
- To link Internet café industry players with that of the allied ICT businesses like online gaming companies, hardware and software vendors that could lead in the formulation of a national program that would benefit the Internet café operators around the country.
We are extending this invitation to all Internet café owners for them to attend this summit and be part in the formation of a national program that aims to improve the conditions of the Internet café industry in the Philippines.
